In simple ceremonies held last February 7 at the Bataan Tourism Park, DTI-Competitiveness Bureau Director Lilian Salonga presented a trophy to Schools Division Superintendent Ronnie Mallari, in recognition of DepEd Balanga City’s Commitment to Quality Management or Level 1 of the Philippine Quality Award.

Philippine Quality Award (PQA), a program that encourages public and private organizations to be globally competitive, was institutionalized through the signing of Republic Act 9013 or the Philippine Quality Award Act.
Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, together with the principals of the various public schools in the city witnessed the event.
